Y1: Letter Names & Letter Sounds

We have been working hard in our daily phonics, learning new sounds and looking for 'special friends' when we read words (2 or 3 letters making one sound). 

We also learn a new word of the week (this week's is 'by').

Today we sang the alphabet name song ( A,B, C, D etc). 

We then played a game of dominoes to match the lower case letter to the upper-case one. 

As children placed theirs down they said the letter sound and capital letter name. 

The children were super at taking turns as well as completing the consolidation work linked to capital letters.
