FS2: Learning about Diwali

Monday 20th October 2025 was the start of the Hindu five-day festival of Diwali. It is also a festival that is celebrated by Sikhs, Jains and some Buddhists. This week the children have learnt about the Diwali story of Rama and Sita, and why Diwali is also known as the Festival of Lights. The children explored the ways some people in the UK prepare for (and celebrate) Diwali. We decorated our Home Corner with streamers and rangoli patterns, and the children also made special food with playdough, celebrate Diwali. Look at some of the different things we have been doing...
