Last Friday, 20th March 2026, it was announced that Bishop Ralph had resigned after almost twelve years of dedicated service to the Diocese of Hallam. Pope Leo has appointed Bishop Marcus Stock, Bishop of Leeds, as Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Hallam while a period of consultation takes place to discern its future.
We keep Bishop Ralph in our prayers, remembering with gratitude his close connection to our school community. He visited us on several occasions, most notably to celebrate our Diamond Jubilee Mass of Thanksgiving in June 2017, to bless and officially open our Marie Kerley Library, and to spend time with our young chaplains. He also faithfully served our parish, Our Lady of Lourdes, where he confirmed many of our pupils over the years.
We give thanks for his selfless leadership and devoted service, and we will continue to hold him in our prayers.
