FS2 Mouse Club: Home Learning with Our Mice!

24th Oct 2023

This year each new starter in FS2 received a special gift from school, when they started in September - their very own mouse! The mice are special learning friends that that they share their learning journeys with in school and more importantly, at home.

At home the children and their mice are encouraged to share their learning adventures, for example, out on a walk, shopping, visits to museums or libraries, day trips, holidays, or even bigger adventures.

We love to hear about all the things our children have been doing. They can share their home activities with classmates via our Tapestry online journal. The home activities which are posted by parents/carers are shared and the children are given an opportunity to share their news with classmates. This fantastic for developing confidence and speaking and listening skills as well as widening their knowledge of the world.

Activities shared in our weekly FS2 Mouse Club newsletter provide examples of how parents/carers/families at home can support their children with the weekly learning themes. The mouse can also be used to show everyone how exciting the learning has been at home, e.g. learning to set the table, brushing teeth carefully every day, and sharing bedtime stories.

Thank you to all our FS2 families for supporting these activities.
