Y4 Holocaust Memorial Day 2026
On 27th January, our Y4 children paused for reflection and prayer to mark Holocaust Memorial Day. Pupils listened to the story of Otto Deutsch, who, as a child during the Holocaust, was forbidden from playing football in the park simply because he was Jewish. Through this, they learned that Holocaust Memorial Day reminds us of times in history when people were persecuted and killed because of their religion or the colour of their skin, and of our responsibility today to stand up and speak out against hatred and prejudice.
Our Y4 Chaplains closed the time with a prayer in memory of those who perished during the Holocaust and all who continue to suffer discrimination. Well done, everyone, your reflections and prayers were so thoughtful and moving.
