History Makers and Skipping Superstars!

15th Jun 2018

Y2 children took part in the first ever skipping school competition in Sheffield! There was lots of hustle and bustle in the sports hall at Ponds Forge. Seven  schools competed. Everyone showed great teamwork and support for each other. There were individual competitions for ‘Double Bounce’, ‘Speed Bounce’, ‘Hop and Swap’, ‘Swing Skip’, ‘Face-to-Face’ pairs and then there were the team games for ‘Run, Jump Out’ and ‘Keep the Pot Boiling.

  • Stefania received a bronze award for ‘Double Bounce’
  • Max received a silver award for ‘Double Bounce’
  • Kessy received a bronze award for ‘Speed Bounce’
  • Faye received a silver award for ‘Hop and Swap’
  • Gio received a gold award for ‘Hop and Swap’
  • Kiya received a bronze award for ‘Swing Swap’
  • Maya and Izzy received bronze awards for ‘Face to Face’ pairs
  • Riley and Tyler received bronze awards for ‘Face-to-Face’ pairs

We couldn't believe the skills of everyone who took part! Most amazingly we won overall!

First place for the first time ever! We were so excited we nearly burst! We couldn't believe it!

We are now - officially - the first year group ever to win a city-wide skipping competition in Sheffield! We have made history!

Well done to everyone! A huge ‘thank you’ too, to the volunteers who helped make this experience possible!
