FS2 Science: Growing Cress

8th May 2026

The children in FS2 listened to a story about a little boy who grew cress. They followed a list of instructions and were able to make their own 'cress heads'. Everyday they have a close look to see if there are any changes to the seeds. They also decided to do an extra experiment in which they placed a pot of seeds without any water on the windowsill and a pot of seeds with water, but in the dark, in Mrs Barratt's cupboard. The children were asked to have a think and predict what might happen to the seeds. Would they all still grow?
