Get Set, GO!

25th Feb 2018

From the start of Term 4 (27-02-18) there will be significant changes to the start of the school day as we introduce our new daily ‘Get Set, GO!’ sessions!

These are designed to engage children positively in learning at the very start of the day with a range of fun and motivating Mathematics and English activities and challenges.

Our popular daily ‘Wake Up & Shake Up’ session will now take place on the playground every day at 8.40am and the children will then go into class from 8.45am in order to join in with their ‘Get Set, GO!’ challenges.

The official start of the school day will remain the same but all children will be encouraged to arrive at school earlier in order to take part in the ‘Get, Set, GO!’ sessions if they can. We are very confident that these will help by giving all children a vital learning boost that will set them up for the rest of the day!

Children will receive a late mark only if they are late for the official start of school. Children who miss the ‘Get Set, GO!’ session but arrive in time for the official start of the school day will also go straight to class.

In the event of poor weather before school everyone will continue to go straight into the School Hall, as we do currently. The children will then go to their classrooms from 8.45am for their ‘Get Set, GO!’ sessions. Pupils arriving after 8.45am when the weather’ is bad will go straight to their classes via the School Hall. Thank you
