George Stephenson

10th Feb 2019

As part of our transport work the children were shown a picture of a significant individual from he past.

They thought about what information they could gain from the photo and then generated questions related to what else they wanted to find out about him, his life and why he was famous.

Of course they used different 'question words' and question marks!

Then today we learned lots of facts about George Stephenson.

The children wrote down a fact they had remembered and then shared it with another person.

This was repeated a few times.

Each child then wrote down a second fact - and it was ok to 'magpie' a fact that another child had told them.

To show all of their understanding each child then wrote individually, and their work was really  impressive.

Please do ask your child what they can recall about this very significant person.
