Y1 Geography: Exploring Our Local Area

We have started to learn all about about our local area. 

We looked at a world map and zoomed in, closer and closer, first taking note the continents; then our country; our city; and finally Hackenthorpe, our local area. Children worked together using different aerial photos of our local area to spot different landmarks, both physical and those created by humans.

Next week we will have a walk around the local area, developing important fieldwork skills to support our learning.
