Y1 Geography: Our School Plan

27th Nov 2023

The children looked at aerial photos and discussed what parts of our school they could see. Afterwards, in groups, the children used objects from around the clssroom to create a representation of the school in plan view.

They were asked to explain what each object represented. For example, the dominoes might have been steps and the large paper area the field.

They then had to consider what sizes they would use in order to make sure that the field, for example, was a larger area than the Y1 classroom.

Each group shared their work, before the children drew their own plan views of our school.
