Y1 Geography: Investigating Our Local Area

24th Mar 2023

Our Y1 child have been thinking about the different types that adults have in our local area- and why their jobs are are necessary.

The have been children focusing on our local shop/post office and have come up with some great questions of their own, to ask the shopkeeper, so that they were able to learn more - not just about his job - but also about his role in our local area.

This week the children welcomed our local shopkeeper into class and so that they could ask their excellent questions. They took turns and listened really carefully to his answers, to make sure they understood and could remember what he sold, the number of customers he has; and the role of his shop.

A huge 'thank you' to Mr J for coming to visit us. We all really appreciate it.
