Fractions

We have been learning what 1/2 and 1/4 means.  We learnt that 1/2 means 2 equal parts and 1/4 is 4 equal parts.  The children worked with shapes last week and this week have been finding 1/2 and 1/4 of amounts.  They used a systematic method to ensure the shared equally.  Word problems around fractions will be tomorrow's challenge.
