Firefighter Visit

5th Nov 2018

Today we were lucky enough to have fireman Sam (yes really) visit us.

He talked to us about his role in South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue as well as how to be safe around fire.

The children learned about:

  • the importance of having smoke alarms at home,
  • what 'Stop, Drop and Roll' means,
  • fire plans
  • how to call 999
  • the importance of not over loading plug sockets

In the afternoon we had a recap and listened to the 'Francis the Firefly' story. The children then did some writing about how to be safe around fire.

Thank you Sam for coming in on your day off!
