Y1 History: Enjoying our Toys!

Linking our history topic with English, the children enjoyed a great afternoon playing with, and exploring, the toys they had brought into school from home. 

our focus was on speaking and listening. 

The children were asked to describe their toy to a partner who then fed back to the rest of the class, to show they had been listening carefully. 

The children then swapped roles with their partners, before using the experience and their own toys as a stimulus for some fantastic independent writing!
