Y1 English: Meeting Paddington Bear!

17th Apr 2024

Our English work this half term will be linked to the much-loved fictional adventures of Paddington Bear.

The children have already listened to the beginning of the story of Paddington Bear - and the moment he he arrived at Paddington station in London. They learned that it was Mr and Mrs Brown who found him with a label tied around his neck, which said 'Please look after this bear'.

The children decided that the label did not say anything about what the little bear needed. So, as a class, we decided to address this. We first thought carefully about what Paddington might need and want before each writing a new, and more helpful, label.

The children tried to use adjectives in sentences that also showed off their efforts to write neatly!
