Y1 English: Wombat Goes Walkabout...

19th Nov 2022

Today the children enjoyed an 'experience' lesson for the start of our new English unit of work; 'Wombat Goes walkabout'.

They were introduced to some Australian animals - some of which will be encountered in the story - using videos, pictures, games and soft toys.

They described the animals; talked about their favourites (whilst giving reasons); and used words to describe how they moved.

Some were also able to group them in different categories, e.g. mammal or bird. There were excellent cross-curricular links with our science work!
