SJF Eco Team Update: Busy Bee Fiesta Stall

27th Jun 2025

A Message from Mrs Steension, Coordinator

Our Y6 SJF Eco Team recently created a fantastic fundraiser and ran a themed stall at the PTFA Friday Fiesta!

The children came together to design a “Save the Bees” game, which involved throwing ‘bees’ into a flower. The entire Eco Team worked collaboratively to design and build the props, create eye-catching posters, and decorate beanbags to resemble bumblebees. They met regularly to plan, make decisions about prizes, and ensure everything was ready for the big day.

Dom, a Y6 team member, used a word processor to produce posters featuring his own research into the vital role of bees and the importance of pollination. He added, “The stall will be a lot of fun and hopefully attract a big crowd. I hope we raise lots of money while also encouraging others to think about how they can help pollinators themselves.”

Dom was joined by fellow Y6 members Jai, Charlie, and Lincoln to run the stall after school. Their energy, commitment, and team spirit were exceptional, and I’m incredibly proud of their efforts, which were key to the success of the event. Well done, boys!

Everyone who managed to land all five of their bees into the flower has been entered into a prize draw for the chance to win a cuddly plushie bee. The winner will be announced next week.

Thank you to everyone who supported us!
