FS2: Conker Counting!

17th Oct 2019

Today during 'Number time', we have been working in pairs and looking at small groups of conkers.

We have been learning about estimating this week and remembering that an estimate is a clever guess.

We worked with our partner, who allowed a quick glance at the group of conkers then covered them with their hands. We then had a clever guess at how many were in the group.

The conkers were then lined up and we counted them so we could prove how many there were and to see how close our estimate was.

Mrs Darken then asked how many there would be in each of the lines of conkers if we added one more.

The children answered before Mrs Darken went around each pair and gave one more conker so that the children could check their answers.

Everyone joined in and had lots of fun!
