Calling all Pirates! YO HO HO!!!

9th Jul 2023

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are fast approaching the end of your child’s first year at school! However, there is still time for some more excitement!
Linking to our ‘Beside the Seaside’ topic we will be having a ‘Pirate Day’ on Monday 17th July 2023.
Please do not send your child to school in their PE kit that day. The children can, instead come to school dressed as pirates if they want to. Please do not buy a costume especially, all they need are short trousers, striped or plain T-shirts. Your child can wear a headscarf and eye patch if they want to and you have them. We will be making pirate hats on the day if any children would like to wait to make them in school.

Miss Barrett will be joining us in the afternoon to support activities. During the day we will be making telescopes and treasure chests. We will be going on a real treasure hunt to find some tasty piratey treats!

We would be grateful for any donations of small plastic bottles – ready to put messages in, cardboard tubes to make telescopes with and small containers to make sea-worthy boats and beautiful treasure chests (small boxes and plastic pots e.g. margarine tubs or fruit punnets).

Thank you for your continued support.

Mrs Barratt and Mrs Prentice
