SJF Black History Week 2022: Bessie Coleman

7th Oct 2022

During Black History Week, Year 1 listened to a story about Bessie Coleman who defied all the odds to achieve her dream to become the first black female pilot in 1922.  Bessie Coleman is inspirational and encourages us to dream big!!

The children talked about their own dreams about what they would like to do when they get older.  We did some drama around this, can you see if your child can remember what they are doing in the photo, they may need a reminder as it was before half term!
