SJF Be Safe - Be Happy Week 2024: An Overview

8th Nov 2024

What a fantastic week! The children have:

  • met therapy dogs and learned how they can help anyone with a worry ball to feel better
  • learned about healthy eating and made smoothies
  • experienced how exercise can be lots of fun, and help us to feel happier and better in ourselves
  • learned about resilience and explored how it can help us when we have problems and worries
  • met the police and learned how they help keep us safe in different ways and seen a police car close-up
  • learned about fire safety, including "Stop! Drop! Roll!"
  • learned about the dangers of open water - playing in rivers, lakes and reservoirs
  • learned about electricity safety and why we do not play with plugs and sockets or near pylons or substations
  • learned about bullying and what to do if they witness it, experience it or are the cause of it
  • online safety
  • learned about road safety
  • learned about why we do not talk to strangers and how to stay safe and not get caught up in risky or antisocial behaviour when playing out

We thank our friends and partners from:

  • South Yorkshire Police
  • South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue
  • LINKS School Sports Partnership
  • Taylor Shaw Catering
  • OK-9 Therapy Dogs
  • Sheffield CAMHS/Healthy Minds Team

We also thank our amazing staff for all their hard work too, leading on different areas.
