FS2: Baking Bread

26th Sep 2025

In FS2 the children have been reading the traditional tale of 'The Little Red Hen'.

This is a lovely story that teaches us about helping others and friendship. It also teaches us where flour comes from, and that bread is made from flour.

The children talked about different types of bread and which bread that they like to eat and also learned about harvest time when the wheat is cut. They have even learned how to make bread using flour, water, yeast and a pinch of salt.

They all had a very busy day on Wednesday baking their own bread rolls - and they were delicious!
