Y1 Art and Design: Drawing a Portrait

The children have been learning how to draw portraits, following instructions to draw each step on their wipe boards, initially.

Some had not realised that their eyes are actually in the middle of the head, and are not at the top! Once the eyes were drawn in the correct place the other features were then easier to place.

The children will consolidate their skills in their next lesson by drawing a portrait, in pencil and then adding colour to represent their emotions, using Picasso's self portrait as inspiration.
