Y1 Art & Design: Creating Patterns

Our new Y1 art topic is all about creating patterns. 

The children looked around school for examples of different patterns and textures, for example, in bricks, tiles on the wall and even on rugs in class. They then took rubbings of different textures, using plain paper and wax crayons. Finally, they used the rubbings to create repeating patterns.
