Y1 English: Amazing Adjectives!

14th Nov 2021

This week our Y1 children have been focusing on adjectives and how they are used to describe a noun.

They thought about animals and how using adjectives can help readers to 'see' the animals in their minds.

For example can you 'see' the animal when I describe a large fluffy brown rabbit or a dirty mischievous squirrel?

The children initially used just one adjective to describe each animal (noun). They then added adjectvies to  sentences in order to describe the character in our new text: 'Sunny the Meerkat in Meerkat Mail'!
