The Adventures of Y1 & Paddington Bear!

25th Feb 2020

Today we started reading our new book!

It is the original version of the Paddington Bear story.  It has no pictures.

The children were challenged to listen carefully in order to find out as much as possible about Paddington Bear - just from the text.

We stopped at the part where Mr and Mrs Brown spot a label around Paddington's neck. On the label was written the words: 'Please look after this bear'!

We decided that this did not offer much information so the children wrote new and more helpful labels detailing exactly what the Paddington Bear would actually need, e.g. food, water and a bed etc.

The children tried hard to remember to add adjectives to ensure that anyone who read their new and more helpful labels would know what Paddington Bear would need.

The children produced some lovely writing on their first day back which has been added o he display in class.

I also told the children to try not to think about Paddington Bear film if they have seen it because it differs the original book.

Sharing some of Paddington Bear's different adventures at home would be great, but PLEASE DO NOT share 'Paddington at the Palace' as we are covering this in class next week and we need it to be a surprise for the work we will be doing in the next week or so. Thank you.
