Y1: Autumn Poetry

This week the children are thinking about the signs of autumn.

We considered things such as harvests, festivals, special occasions like bonfire night; the changing weather; autumn colours, changes to the leaves on trees; and the animals that hibernate and migrate.

The children have sorted pictures into 'autumn' and 'not autumn' categories and created some beautiful artwork within our continuous provision; using dried autumn leaves and different painting techniques.

The children then used all of their knowledge to create some descriptive writing, which was amazing!
